graduated from the University of Washington School of Art with emphasis on
printmaking under professor Glen Alps. He pursued printmaking for several
years with exhibits in several galleries in the Seattle are and served as
president of The Northwest Printmakers and juror for local and regional
printmaking competitions. During a five-decade career in advertising he
continued his art as an avocation, switching from printmaking to
watercolors, then began to devote most of his time to that medium. His
work has been accepted by major regional juried watercolor shows and
purchased for private collections throughout the country.
that painting gives him pleasure and satisfaction, an appreciation for
struggling artists and a sense of fulfillment of his creative bent. He
believes that realism is an essential part of good art, hence is interest
in highly representational paintings of places he has visited. He feels
the highest compliment he can receive is for someone to purchase one of
his paintings for a place in their home. That is his primary goal.
in Seattle with often-as-possible escapes with his wife to their
waterfront hideaway on Marrowstone Island and with too infrequent visits
Tuscany and Provence, favorite places that have provided inspiration and
subject matter for much of his work.
